The Homepage is a responsive site, removing the need for m.sainsburys.co.uk and aims to show our customers all the different services on offer by Sainsbury’s including, Clothing, Energy, Telecoms, Bank, Entertainment and of course Groceries.

Challenge
Redesign the Sainsbury's homepage and create a customised modular cross devices CSM easy to update by the marketing team. Reduce barriers to shopping across devices, increase awareness and engagement with the wider Sainsbury's services, by designing with accessibility and usability in mind, allowing customers to complete tasks and journey's quicker and easier.
Approach
Working together with stakeholders, the design team started collating customers insight data to identify missions and create a customer experience map, user flows and wireframes. We then proceed with extensive user testing to validate our design.

And we kept on iterating with the design to find the more flexible way to enable customers to find the information they need faster and help them complete the task at hand as quickly as possible.

User testing
During the usability sessions, we got a positive feedback. Customers were impressed about the refreshed look & feel and the improved usability. They understood and recognised the functionality of the different icons in the header, how to use the main navigation to access different services and they found useful having a dropdown to view quick links and main offers per service. Another enhancement was the carousel functionality and the visual reinforcement of the service tiles.
Design
All our hard work, help us to move from this old design...

...to a brand new look & feel.
A declutter layout, with a modular approach, easy to be amended to accommodate different content.
